Dear Andrea,
The MR2 Drivers’ Club would like to invite members of the Club MR2 Italia to attend the “Silverstone Classic” over the weekend of 27th –29th of July 2007.
This is to be our main event of the year replacing the Stoneleigh Show in August which has unfortunately been cancelled.
We would like to display at least 100 MR2s a day and therefore 10 places (car with two people) per day will be allocated to each European MR2 Club.
The Silverstone Classic is a historic race meeting similar to the “Goodwood Revival”; you’ll enjoy some wonderful action on track, while the open paddock, display areas plus scarf and goggles entertainment zone create a real festival like atmosphere.
You’ll watch some of the finest racing machinery in the world being raced in anger as the makers intended in the glorious past, & not forgetting the chance to meet up with many MR2 enthusiasts along with hundreds of other car clubs displaying.

Each car displayed will receive an infield pass to our stand, and the “buy one get one free” offer for entrance tickets purchased, per day.
Ticket prices are Friday £15.00, Saturday £20.00, Sunday £20.00 or for best value buy a 3-day pass at £35.00, all plus booking fee. We are selling the tickets via the club office so we are able to reduce the booking fee from £2.50 down to £2.00 (e.g. two three day tickets will cost you £37.00 instead of £72.50). Note: each pair of tickets only receives one car pass, if you want to bring 2 cars you need to order 4 tickets, and if you are on your own, you will still need to buy two entrance tickets in order to receive a car pass (sorry those are Silverstone Classic organisers’ rules).
Please note that orders for the tickets must be received at the MR2DC club office by the 15th June 2007.
Camping is available at Whittlebury Park (5 minutes walk from the circuit) and cost is £40 for 4 nights from Thursday to Monday (check out Monday lunch time) if you pre-book or £45 cash on arrival. To book phone Whittlebury Park on 0044 1327 850000 and ask for the campsite office.
We have invited other European MR2 Clubs such as the French, Belgian, German, Swiss, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch etc... And we already know that Germany is bringing 10 cars.

Troppo avanti nel tempo per dare la mia adesione però è una grande idea!
Ovviamente si passerebbe da Nurburg per arrivare a Silverstone, la deviazione è piccola  |

Many thanks for posting this on your forum. I did register on your forum but my Italian is unfortunately very poor and I couldn't work out where to post the invite.

Mi piacerebbe esserci ma quel periodo sono aldilà dell'oceano a guidare una Ford Mustang decapottabile gialla, tra il Canada e gli Stati Uniti, peccato Silversone è un mito
Mi consolerò con i 500CV dell'8 cilindri a V di 4.6 Litri americano.
